Idiomarina loihiensis isolate 25 is a true halophile showing the highest similarity to Idiomarina loihiensis - the halophilic bacterium isolated for the first time from the hydrothermal vents on the Lō’ihi Seamount, Hawai‘i  with an optimum salinity for growth 7.5-10% (Donachie et al. 2003).
